A professional facilitator helps groups to work more effectively. As a Technology of Participation (ToP) Associate, I design and facilitate participatory and inclusive meetings, workshops, and team awaydays. This typically includes facilitating reflection and learning, visioning, action planning, and strategic planning sessions.

Manchester International Festival is staged every two years, bringing artists together from around the world to create and present innovative work. During preparations for MIF19, I facilitated two participatory workshops to help the team develop new approaches for evaluation. This included:

  • Client briefing
  • Design and delivery of Technology of Participation consensus workshops to identify intended outcomes for MIF19
  • Supplying facilitator’s notes which directly informed the evaluation framework.

‘Marge ran an inspiring revisioning day with us for Age Friendly volunteers and gallery staff,  which gave us a new energy and enthusiasm.  She was highly skilled at taking a brief and developing an effective and creative approach to working with a broad range of people, helping us to develop a shared agenda. Marge has strong transferable facilitation skills and I would not hesitate in working with her in the future.
