Folly & Harris Museum
Current: an experiment in collecting digital art
I wrote and delivered the marketing campaign for the Current exhibition, acquisition and debate. Current was a unique partnership project between the Harris Museum & Art Gallery and folly which aimed to open up wider discussion about the challenges of collecting digital art.

Proposals were invited from UK-based artists’ work which celebrated innovative and creative use of new media technology. Pieces by boredomresearch, Michael Szpakowski, James Coupe, Thomson & Craighead and Harwood, Wright, Yokokoji were chosen by a first expert panel for an exhibition at the Harris, with a secondary panel selecting one work to be acquired for the Harris’ collection. This pioneering case study concluded with a public debate.
